Olive greens, deep reds, and even various shades of brown fit nicely in this style.

Depending on the size of your home, darker colors aren’t always successful. The swatch in your hand might look great but when it scales up, the darkness might become too overwhelming. Smaller homes tend to benefit more from having a darker color than larger homes. If your home has large areas of open surface, you can deemphasize them with a lighter color. If you want the opposite, darker hues are the way to go.

As it’s good to work nicely with your siding and roof, it’s good to mesh with the surrounding homes as well. Sticking out like a sore thumb will only draw unnecessary negative attention to yourself. You can have your own unique home, but try and avoid being an eyesore. Use accents to help blend your style.
